The festive season is on our doorstep. It always seems so far away until you wake up one day and realize you are late for both getting the house decorated and doing the Christmas gift shopping. Buying useless gifts and things made of crap materials, is something that we didn’t really think about in the previous decade. Yet nowadays, we want to be more mindful about what we buy. We also want to think about where we buy it from. And we care about the lifetime of the items we gather around us. Besides that, we personally rather give our money towards a creative who puts passion into every item he or she produces in stead of to a large, un-personal chain.
Whether it is for a photo shoot or an installation, we are always on the look out for new products to work with. We have quite a few well known go-to sites we use and shops we visit. Yet we also very much enjoy using unique products made by enthusiastic creatives that are possibly driving their business from their kitchen table.
Visiting Italy in spring is always a good idea. Our excuse this week was a trip to the Milan Design Week to spot trends, meet with suppliers and experience the creative epicenter of styling and design that this city transforms into once a year. For the work that we do it is one of the most inspirational trips we can make.
Do you want to see me and the team getting really excited? That is when we see Collaborative shoot appearing on the agenda.
A collaborative shoot is initiated and executed by us. We are the client as well as the stylist. It gives us a chance to work with products we have adored for a long time or that we just recently fell in love with.
Over time we collect these treasures until we have a perfect mix. And then we create a setting, hoping it will look as good as it does in our head.
