As the days get shorter and the winter break gets closer, we are working on many lists. Lists from the kids to Santa, lists of gifts to bring home when we visit the family and our regular to-do lists of work related items.
All of these lists have one thing in common and that is that they are about cozy encounters, family time and delicate decorations. Although we have had a Xmas tree before, this year we are keeping it simple and sweet. Green is the theme yet there are so many different ways to bring some lush leaves inside.
As we have just waved our Dutch Saint Nicholas goodbye and are gearing up for the school break, we are ready for the festive holiday. On paper….because with the sun still out and our flip flops still on, Christmas still feels far away.
As we will be singing our carols under a tree elsewhere, we want to keep our decorations really simple this year. Yet we just can not let this cozy time pass us by unseen. So focus on green, back to the basic with a touch a lights
The end of this beautiful jam-packed year is swiftly approaching. As our friends and family are scattered around the globe, we always try to get organised on time in terms of getting our Xmas pressies sorted. Even with the outside temperature still in the high 20’s, this mandatory online shopping experience automatically gets us into the holiday spirit.
School is out, the tree is up and I have already heard Mariah Carey on the radio a several times. There’s no denying it, Xmas 2015 has come.
As I hear Jack and Sam humming the songs of their winter concert, I think back of this time of year when I was their age. Although many things have changed (for sure did I not sing the theme song of Frozen), many things are the same. Like lazing around in pyjama’s, having no plan for the day and ending up being exhausted from all our activities and the home cooked festive dinners.
