We love it when we walk out of one of our rooms, leaving behind a happy kid. A seven year old boy this time who was very content with his new place to sleep.
However, it does require time, inspiration, many trips to many different shops and plenty of online shopping before we reach that stage. We just want to take you back to show how we get from moodboard to final room.
Once we have met the little dweller and have seen the room, we often immediately have an idea of what we want to do. In this case, we wanted to work on something solid with touches of nature with a wild edge. This space is a young boys domain, and it will need to stay cool for the coming years.
Once upon a time there was a nine year old girl who was ready for a small version of a big city apartment. Inspired by her passion for ballet and her love for Paris, we were very happy to create a space for her to grow in and grow-up in. This room needed some dreamy metropolitan furnishing with a modern touch.
Details can really make or break a piece of furniture, thats why we always try to refine every element of the items we work with. We love it when someone says: “look at those legs!”, not referring to mine but to the customised bed legs for example. Its all about the details.
As we’re quite a regular at our local IKEA, both for our styling projects and for our own home, a company like SuperFront is a phenomenal find. This clever Swedish company makes legs, handles, fronts and tops for some of IKEA’s best known items. The result: creating affordable yet beautifully customised furniture. SuperFront works with a beautiful line of colors and exclusive materials such as brass, copper, marble, birch and leather… need to mention those are some of our favorites?
In a few days we will kick off the month of numerous celebrations. From local festivities to long-established traditions which are often celebrated with close friends and family at home. This gives us all a great excuse to focus on making our home a warm and welcoming place.
To get into the holiday spirit, we teamed up with friend and Dubai blogger House of Hawkes to create a styled interior space full of inspiration for Xmas, just like we did last year.
