What is the difference between a house and a home? A space and a room? What makes a random area in your house a sanctuary you want to escape to?
At the Milan Design Week we literally kept walking into a new trend that opened our eyes. It is a theme that is all about how connecting with people is more important then ever. ‘Everything is connected’ was not only the title of Jotun‘s design exhibition, we also felt this proposition at brands like IKEA, Carl Hansen and Son, Vitra and many more.
The Dubai Design Week is here!
This is one of those weeks to feed our inspiration and meet creatives from all over the world. The Dubai Design Week is more then just a design fair. Part of it is Downtown Design which is a week full of activities, workshops, events and pop-ups across the city and in the Dubai Design District (D3). As there is so much going on, you will need to do your homework to make sure you don’t miss out on your personal fav’s. And here are ours:
After being scattered around the globe for seven weeks (!), we are back. While it is still very summery in Dubai (to put it mildly), a lot of our friends are gearing up for autumn. The good thing about this season is new AW 16 collections will be launched. That is why we want to kick off this second half of the year with some exciting and inspiring things we came across to get back into the styling game.
With the airconditioning on full blast, we have happily reunited on our first office morning this season. It’s great to be back. Lets get this blog rolling!
You might have noticed that we are quite big fans of Danish design brand HAY and IKEA from neighbouring country Sweden. Just last April we had the chance to visit their fantastic concept store at the Milan Design Week where we loved every product displayed.
In our room installations we often use their wall rings, like in the apartment, my boys room at home and in the Dreamy Metropolitan girls room.
