With our summer holiday coming to an end soon, the list of projects that we would like to start on is growing. One of them can start as soon as we are home: the kids rooms.
Updating the kids rooms always makes sense after a summer break and at the beginning of a school year as kids mature so quickly in their time away from routine, homework and school uniforms.
As surfer boy Sam just turned 9, we have his room in mind to start with. He got his own room earlier this year (after sharing a room most of his life with Jack) and we were still working of the ultimate finishing touch.
Whether we are designing a commercial space or working on a room in our own house, we always try to make the furniture and accessories relevant for who ever will be spending most of their time there. Using wall art is great way to update or upgrade, and we had something specific in mind.
Working with Zoe Rumeau
You have probably seen us work with Zoe Rumeau before in our installations. We love her art and have used it in play rooms, kids rooms, nurseries and even in adult spaces. And what could be better than working with her art?
Working with her to create a piece of art!
So that is what happened at the beginning of this year. We bounced some ideas back and forth, quickly coming to the conclusion that this sign is a winner. In her atelier in Paris, she worked out what we designed together.
And now, (finally, after a little delay due to a pandemic that made shipping nearly impossible…) we have our hands on it. As it is a perfect fit with our holiday home at the coast, we have already put one up at Live Loud Girl Stays. When we are back home, the one in Sam’s room will go up and we will share the results with you of course.
The good news is…
But listen to this: it’s not a one-of-a-kind to make you jealous…
We have a limited number of these beautiful surf signs for sale for €120 / AED 525 (excluding shipping). So if you are interested, please let us know. We ship to Dubai and Europe.
