“Just another day at the zoo” is what we would like people to think when they walk into our latest playroom installation. Not because the two little girls that this playroom is for are behaving like monkeys but because it is full of exotic animals in all sorts, shapes and sizes.
When we started working on this project, we knew for sure that we wanted to use the Nofred Tucan wallpaper. This bold print is so fun and flirtatious and therefore just perfect for a playroom. The finishing touches for this wall are the soft toned Aro for Kids embroidery and the funky LEGO neon light. Game on for this statement wall!
Our good old favorite IKEA cabinets bring in lots of storage space so that tidying up in this room is not a problem. We brought in some more storage with an Avery Row basket and a Tellkiddo bag. A combination like that always works wonders according to us…
We loved styling the top of the cabinets with the knitted Severina Kids mushrooms in together with wooden toys from Sarah & Bendrix and Pinch Toys. This collection of goodies brings in that vintage look that we feel is part of our signature.
On the opposite side of the room we brought in some color. To create some optical space we chose a stripe design in the Soft Teal color by Jotun. A funky design that shows you that playing around with color and pattern can be fun and compliments a bold wall paper on the opposite wall. Here you can also find some of our favorite wall decor items: the Fiona Walker animal heads.
As this room will also be used for chilling, we could not forget some By Alex play mats. The combination of them, together with the velvet cushions, gives this room a cozy corner. The cabinet and storage boxes are mainly used for costumes and princess dresses. The girls can hang their favorites on the wall hooks and giant seagrass cactus. The cactus is one of our new favorite finds on this year, what a gem!
A finishing touch is the rattan Serax lights from The Den. What a playful place. What do you think?
