playroom boys

Moving house also meant saying goodbye to the playroom that has been quite a corner stone in our house and on this blog.
The great thing about a (new) playroom is that you can change it according to the preferences of your children. The room can grow up as they do. With only a few little changes, you can come a long way.
In our case we were lucky with some great timing since IKEA approached us to team up.

In the new playroom, I wanted to add a corner for the boys to read and relax. As a sofa was a bit of a ‘grown up’ solution (in both volume and pricing), we decided to bring in a matrass base. As I have a weak spot for birch, I added some NORSBORG wooden legs myself to keep up my DIY skills. Easy does it!
To make it a cosy lounger, we added a thin mattress and some fun cushions. A bit of a Moroccan look and feel,  a great add on to the variety of styles we have collected over the past few years.

The boys love it!
I often find them stretched out on the lounger with a book. The mother in me just thinks: ‘Anything to make them read, and keep me busy’.
A added bonus is that we have an extra sleeping place for the occasional sleep over.
