As you might have seen, @fronteriors – the side hussle that I started with fellow stylist @houseofhawkes – opened her virtual doors last month. It was a dream of ours to make furniture. And with a long and colourful history of #ikeahacking, the notion of designing a unique and stylish collection of doors, tops and sides to fit IKEA furniture frames was the ideal business concept for us to pour our passion and creativity into knowing there would be highs and lows.
It’s almost been a year since we moved into our newly renovated home. A rental home once again. Yet this time around we were fortunate to be involved of the renovation, making this house the best one yet. And with bringing in some long longed for &tradition furniture has been the cherry on my kitchen.
Being back home and sleeping in your own bed is always such a bonus after a beautiful long holiday. And new bedding is my way to celebrate. It always wants me to stay in bed. Midnatt is a Swedish based brand offering bed linen in crisp organic cotton. The combination of colors is what we fell for when we came across the Midnatt account on Instagram.
Six months ago I started the little adventure called fronteriors together with fellow stylist and friend @houseofhawkes. We both had a dream to design and build furniture. And so, without any big fat business plan, we decided over lunch to design a range of custom doors and tops to fit a selection of IKEA furniture frames that we work with a lot in our interior styling jobs.
Over the last few months we have been selecting materials, colors and accessories. We had to get techie and design, build and test a website. The fun part was seeing the actual product come to life and doing the photo shoots. The less sexy side was tons of admin, calls, errors and hick ups. However: no rain, no shine… and we did it!
