Some big news! We bought a coastal holiday home in The Netherlands. Well actually it is a tiny villa on a holiday home park. Last Tuesday we received the keys to our new holiday home which is located in Zeeland, on the Dutch coast. Although we have gotten very spoiled in Dubai with the warm sea and the many beach days a year, going to a Dutch beach is still incredible. After 8 years living as expats, we are excited to own our place again in Holland.
Over the years I have learned that comfort sometimes comes before beauty. Now don’t get a big fright, I am not saying that I will only be walking around in a track suit or never will wear heels again. I am saying that a comfortable place for couch surfing was missing in my previous home and I was desperate for a change.
Being a coffee enthusiast ánd an interior stylists gives me ample opportunity to make sure my coffee break does not only satisfy my caffeine craving, it also pleases my eyes. Call us fanatics, but drinking from a certain cup and making the whole counter esthetically look good just makes us very happy.
Being in a rental home can sometimes be a pro, sometimes a con. What we have learned in our previous rentals is that making a house your home can be a challenge. Especially if fundamental elements like the color on the wall, the type of floor or structural design is not totally up your street.
