After being stuck inside for what feels like a life time, we recently saw the restrictions ease up which allowed us to go out again. And we immediately grabbed the chance with both hands. Not only because we were all desperate to get out of the house. Or that we were we dying to do something other than homeschooling and hiding in our temporary home offices. The possibility to get back to work allowed us to instal a project that we started designing at the beginning of the year. And it felt really good to be back in the saddle.
For nearly a decade, my boys have been sharing a room. At first it was a necessity as our New York apartment where we lived when Sam was born was tiny. When we arrived in Dubai, they started in separate rooms. But when I invested in the Oeuf NYC bunk bed (which had been on my personal wish list for a long time) the boys happily chose their obvious bunk. Jack up – Sam down. They loved being together in the mornings and evenings and I can tell you, it made the bedtime routine easy for me.
We are always up for a challenge. So when asked to furnish a two bedroom hotel apartment with a capped budget and a limited time frame, we thought: Yeah! Let’s do this. Taking on projects for which we are in charge of from start to finish is what we do best. And although we love working with unique items that we often order from abroad, statement pieces and Scandinavian Design, we are capable of keeping it local and light.
Summer is here! We will be having a break from the office yet also have a very exciting design job to look into. Live Loud Girl Stays is our own three bedroom home on the Dutch coast. A place to go to in our school holidays. A place to rent out to who ever wants to experience the true Live Loud Girl style.
