SHOP THE MILAN LOOK

Visiting Italy in spring is always a good idea. Our excuse this week was a trip to the Milan Design Week to spot trends, meet with suppliers and experience the creative epicenter of styling and design that this city transforms into once a year. For the work that we do it is one of the most inspirational trips we can make.

Yet there is more to Milan then just the Design Week. The architecture, the shops, the food and the people, it’s all so good to experience making us realize there is a lot that we can learn from the Italians.

Italians are known for living la dolce vita (“the good life”).
Food should be enjoyed at a table with loved ones. So we sat down and had numerous plates of the most divine pasta, taking the time for it and appreciating all those tasty ingredients. A salad is considered a side dish and not a meal. We are supporters!

We fit right in by not getting up too early yet starting the day off right with a croissant and coffee at a local coffee bar. Drinks go in proper cups in Italy, there is no such thing as a coffee to-go.

And the Italians know how to dress well. They live by the saying: la bella figura, meaning that life is better when you look better. So no messy bun and flip flops but beautiful quality pieces and dito shoes.

To make sure that we would look good for the occasion, we were dressed by Smallable. We chose some beautiful items to reflect both our own style and that of a Design Week. We went for classic pieces that could be dressed up or down for the different events we were attending.

Regarding design, we go back home fully inspired. When it comes to lifestyle, we hope to become a little more Italian every year because Vivo forte – Perché no? (translates: Live Loud, why not?)

SPRING BREAK

Spring break is on our doorstep and for a change we will be spending it back home. A long day of traveling is ahead of us so it is essential to get comfortable. In Holland, cooler weather is awaiting us. We obviously hope to get some nice spring days too although we can not say we don’t get enough sun during the year. Our days will be filled with family and relaxing. No (very) early school drop offs, no routine and no school uniform for two weeks! Hallelujah!

We will be making some outings together yet for me it is also a work trip. Preparing a visit to the Design week in Milan (Yeah! Obviously more about this in the coming weeks) and taking the first steps in getting our own little hide away up and running. The only thing that I can tell you is that you can soon book a break Live Loud Girl style….

So with full suitcases and agenda’s we are off for the coming two weeks. A break in between our completed jobs in the first quarter of this year and a chance to energize for some awesome projects that are lined up for the next.

JOTUN’S COLOR LAUNCH 2019: IDENTITY

My suitcase had exactly been unpacked for one full day before it saw my clothes come in again. No pity needed as I had the chance to go off to what probably is the Interior capital of the world: Copenhagen to attend the official Jotun Color Launch 2019: Identity.

Every year Jotun releases her new colors that translate the latest trends and global inspiration into three themes with each eight beautiful colors.
