LAUNCH JOTUN COLOR TRENDS 2018

otun Launch 2018 colors dubaiIn the category ‘better late then never’, we would love to share a project with you that has kept us very busy the last few months.

For interior stylists it is always exciting when new color cards are being launched. Especially when it is the color card of our partner Jotun. And this years trend color launch was extra special since we were in charge of styling the event including the roll out in the region. Inspired by the new color pallets and a direction that we were given from the head office in Norway, we created a set up for the launch event including a sit down dinner at stunning Inked Dubai.

For the Jotun offices in Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and the UAE we were in charge of designing a setting to present the new color card.

You would think that you would know all the colors out there right now yet every Jotun launch is surprising. Not only the colors on their own, it is all about the complementing colors that jointly make a themed pallet. This is the new Jotun color collection for 2018:

Serenity is all about peach, blush and sandy brown. Think of African soil, handicrafts, stone and wood. This combined with creme white gives the pallet a flesh yet warm feel.

City is a blue based pallet deep and cool blue tones. Combined with a marble grey and a warm wood tone they create a urban pallet.

Nature makes you smell the greenery outside. A tropical feel with fresh and deeper greens in combination with pink tones give a recharging effect.

You would think that the City pallet is right up our street. And it is. We would be comfortable working with any of these colors. Yet our very favorite is the Dark Teal – a warm and surprising color greenish blue from the Nature collection that we can’t wait to use. Stay tuned as we already have some ideas about how to use this!

A color that we got totally hooked to is Blushing Peach from the Serenity pallet. It is so easy to style in different ways. If you are looking for a color that is bold yet effortless to combine, this is the one.

We would like to thank Jotun for this opportunity and our partners The Movement and Florette for making this possible!

STYLING PROJECT – JOTUN WONDERWALL & ROYAL VELVET

Ready, set, action!
We were so excited and honored to do our first styling job of a video shoot. We were asked to take care of the styling  for the setting of the online campagne for the launch of Jotun’s Wonderwall and Royal Velvet paint range starring beauty blogger @raniafawazz.

Jotun is a brand that we often work with (and for). Yet this being a video shoot did make things a bit more thrilling then usual. For weeks our mind was set on getting the perfect items and props together.

EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED

We are excited to be back at the most spectacular show of the season. The Milan Design Week so far has been impressive and fun.

This year we are happy to see Jotun back in the Ventura Lambrate design district. Curated by Katrin Greiling the exposition ‘Everything is connected’ brings together talents of the Norwegian design and craft scene to tell the story of the country’s creative presence. This all against the backdrop of Jotun’s newest colors that will set the trend for this year. Norwegian Wood, Blue River and Nordic Breeze have been exclusively designed for Milan Design Week.

JOTUN DUSTY RED IN THE LIVINGROOM

Changing seasons always makes our stylist heart a little restless as this is the perfect moment for change. We were very curious about some of the colors on Jotuns new color chart and that in combination with being totally ready for something different made us decide to take a little gamble.

The good thing about creating a statement wall in your home is that it is a big effect in very little time. This wall only took one can of paint and four hours to complete including the styling. The proof is in the video. Bye bye white walls, hello dusty red!
