A HOME TO CONNECT

What is the difference between a house and a home? A space and a room? What makes a random area in your house a sanctuary you want to escape to?

At the Milan Design Week we literally kept walking into a new trend that opened our eyes. It is a theme that is all about how connecting with people is more important then ever. ‘Everything is connected’ was not only the title of Jotun‘s design exhibition, we also felt this proposition at brands like IKEA, Carl Hansen and Son, Vitra and many more.

Outside the walls of our home we are constantly connected to the world by social encounters via our numerous devices. With an overload of data we come home in the evenings with our brains still working overtime.
Yet creative ideas are mostly born by connecting with others, talking, discussing, brainstorming and laughing. And that is why our home, like never before, ideally is a place to disconnect the devices and connect with each other.

We feel that a house could be anyones, a home tells a story. Your story. It reflects our personality and is the space where memories are made. The furniture around you should make you happy and can change according to the phase of life that you are in. To us, changing our interior always brings in good vibes and new ideas.
Converting spaces to rooms in your home means bringing in furniture that allows you to connect. Sitting across each other is more inviting then sitting next to each other.  Make your kitchen tables larger, your TV sofa’s smaller…

As true Instagram and wifi addicts, we understand that turning off completely is mere to impossible and not something we desire. Yet we love the trend of creating a home around you that makes you want to talk to each other, share ideas and just be. Because slowing down is sometimes the best way to speed up.

BLUE FOR YOU

It is no secret that we love blue. It is such a versatile color that can range from chic to funky. Therefore we are happy to see that blue is on the radar big time in Milano.

Jotun launched their exclusive colors that were specially created for the ‘Everything is connected’ exhibition earlier this week. The colors Blue River and Nordic Breeze were presented together with a brown shade Norwegian Wood. This is a much fresher pallet compared to what we saw last year.

MILANO HERE WE COME

We are counting the days for our trip to the Milan Design Week. The Salone di Mobile is the largest largest trade fair of its kind in the world and what makes it most interesting for us is that this is the place where new trends are introduced to the public. Yet there is more then the trade fair alone. Throughout the entire city, designers, artists and creatives showcase their latest work in galleries, shops and garages.
