MILAN DESIGN WEEK: GREEN

Buongiorno from Milan!
Live Loud Girl is on tour this week and living a dream by visiting the largest and most inspirational design fair: the Salone del Mobile.

We will be making quite some miles here to see as much as possible and want to share our findings with you. Every day we will cover a trend that we spotted and loved which you will probably come across again in some of our up coming projects.

Going green is not new, yet we were amazed that it is gone from being a trend to being an established part of any interior. Because not only did we see a lot of this color in furniture, the use of actual greenery is overwhelming. If our love for anything green has to do with the fact that we live in the desert, we don’t know. We try to stay objective.

Although we came across so many beautiful stands, shops, installations and restaurants (yes, when in Milan, eat like the Milanese…) we were most blown away by HAY design. They literally took the phenomenon concept store to the next level. Have a look. Besides the staggering use of greenery outside, inside they mainly combined combined the color green  with blush pink.
The Rolf Benz stand at the fair with their ‘welcome to the circus’ theme showed once again how versatile their collection is. The basic for this surprisingly fun theme was black. Yet the furniture was presented in only three shades: black, green and blush.
Carl Hansen and Son surprised us with their gorgeous Scandi design. This brand which is all about passionate craftsmanship used the green in a color blocking room with bold saturated colors. This brand also combined the green with blush.

We think you will be seeing more of this combination the coming days.
