A new season, a new installation and it was a great one! A room for two little sisters who will be sharing a room. And we had the honor to take care of the make over.
It was not so much the climate of Dubai that gave us the inspiration for the styling, it was the fresh and sunny character of the girls that made us decide to go on a little tropical adventure.
We started this job by painting the walls with skylight white from Jotun. This fairly long and narrow room needed the right furniture to keep it airy. Since one of the four walls is all windows, we had only three walls left to use for storage, shelving and furniture. And that is why our eye fell on the two tall four poster beds from Incy Interiors. Dreamy yet modern to also ensure the girls can sleep in them for the years to come. The hight of the beds allows the natural light to come in and keep the room sunny.
A key feature in this room is the playhouse. We had this fabulous item on our list for some time and were very happy to finally use it. Complemented with lots of cushions like the Lucky Boy Sunday, Le Train Fantome fluor striped and monochrome bedding from Cats and Boys, this is a great little hang out for the girls to chill, read a book or chat with friends.
The natural wood of the playhouse matches the custom made wood structure around the roller curtains. A detail that gives the room a very sleek finish.
We worked with acrylic shelves for the reading corner. To add some more color to the collection of the two bookworms, we threw in a rainbow raindrop garland from Velveteen Babies. The natural wood and fluor were repeated in little details as the pineapple wall hooks. Fun and functional handmade by Hello Knobbly.
And we didn’t stop there since we came across the large colored dot wall stickers by Urban Walls. It was like playing vertical twister placing these on the wall behind the beds. No hassle and super easy to remove.
The shared desk was custom made to fit in the niche, completed with two mini Vitra banana-colored chairs. For storage we went for the lovely baskets from Serena & Lily in combination with some Ferm Living baskets.
This was one fun and fruity installation. Honestly, just walking into this room makes us giggle. We couldn’t exactly decide on the theme. Is it is more of a ‘fruit punch’ a ‘colorful circus’ or a ‘fruity zoo’?
You decide!
